Icom BC240

Rapid Desktop Charger – Battery Life Extension Technology

The Icom BC240 is a high-performance rapid desktop charger designed for Icom portable two-way radios. Engineered for efficiency, the Icom BC240 can fully charge a Lithium-ion battery pack in approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. It serves as the official replacement for legacy BC-191, BC-192, and BC-193 charging units, offering a more advanced charging profile specifically optimized for the BP-298 and BP-299 battery series.

A standout feature of the Icom BC240 is its innovative “Eco Mode” battery life extension capability. While the normal charging mode brings batteries to 100% capacity, Eco Mode limits the charge to 90%. This slight reduction significantly increases the total number of charge cycles a battery can undergo, potentially doubling the battery’s overall lifespan. This makes it an ideal solution for commercial fleets looking to maximize their hardware investment while maintaining reliable daily performance.
